Number 1. Changing water regularly – the water in the aquarium has to be checked every now and then in order to determine if there’s a need of re-cleaning it. To free yourself from any issues in your aquarium, there is a level of care that has to be done on it.
In maintenance of the tank, the first thing that needs to be done is removing old water from the tank and transfer the fish to your hospital tank for a short time. To make the cleaning faster and easier, all other objects in your main tank should be removed as well.
Number 2. Remove excess dirt and algae – getting rid of dirt and stubborn algae in your main tank could not be easier if there’s routine cleaning performed. This might take longer if the fish tank isn’t thoroughly cleaned the last time. Before you start with the cleaning, it will be wise of you to remove everything in your aquarium. If you have an acrylic tank, it is best to make use of a soft sponge. This is advised as well to avoid scratching the surface of the aquarium.
Number 3. Clean or replace filters -it’s better to replace the used filters rather than cleaning it over and over again. Filters that have been cleaned two or three times already are actually advised by experts to be replaced already to maximize efficiency and savings. Soaps and detergents are not advised by experts as there are ingredients it has that might negatively affect marine life in your aquarium.
